Randi & Sukh

RBC Convention Centre

An elegant vibrant fall wedding.

When your former colleague marries a Punjabi boy and asks you to fulfill her floral dreams!!  This was a huge wedding with 44 tables at the reception in the RBC Convention Centre.  Randi wanted an elegant fall vibe but pretty much left the rest to my imagination.

As it is such a large high-ceilinged venue it was important to incorporate warm colours in both the florals and the various glass vessels.  Autumn leaves, pheasant feathers, antique hydrangea and grasses fitted the bill nicely with the addition of vibrant strawflowers, marigolds and scabiosa echoing the fabulous saris the ladies wore.  Different heights and shapes of vases were used throughout to add visual interest.

The sweetheart table was on a raised dais and Randi and Sukh had selected large brass lanterns for the front.  To complement these, a large antique copper water boiler was placed at ground level and filled with grasses and dried elements reaching up to the table.  A long golden plant holder fronted the table with jewel like pink snowberries, astilbe and huge hanging amaranthus cascading down the front.  Together with the elaborate gold damask cloth and the ornate chairs for the bride and groom it was a very regal sweetheart table indeed!

PS Randi and Sukh were kind enough to invite myself and hubby to the wedding and we had a blast!
